The Southampton Wheel is a touring spectacle and unfortunately not a permanent fixture in the city. If anything I suppose it makes it a little more special that way.
The new and exciting tech development which is now able to be enjoyed by all is 360 Degree Virtual Reality Video and we’ve produced a 360 VR Video riding the Southampton Wheel.
360 VR video allows the viewer to be immersed in the video by wearing a special headset, and when you’re wearing it you are fully ‘in’ the video.
You can look anywhere you want and for applications such as this, it’s a great way of showing what your product (in this case the ferris wheel) is all about.
The reason 360 VR video is now available to all is because you simply need a mobile phone and very inexpensive headset adapter which costs around £15.
There is a video below which explains in more detail about what that is and how to use it.
To view the video below you will need to watch it using either of the 3 methods:
- Using the Youtube App for iOS or Android
- On your Mac using the Google Chrome browser
- On your PC using Google Chrome or Firefox browser
If you are using your computer or laptop to view you will be limited to using your mouse to click on the video to control where to look.
To get the full immersive 360 VR experience you will need to use your mobile phone as detailed at the bottom of this page.
Note: To find the video in the Youtube App, search for “360 Southampton Wheel”.
